GeoChron Blue serial bluetooth connection

I’m trying to connect to my GeoChron Blue via bluetooth serial connection. I’m using putty to try and make the serial connection but every time I try Windows ask for a pairing code. Does the GeoChron Blue have a pairing code? I’ve tried the standard 0000. Is there a work around?

For people searching this: on an apple mac with os x, the passkey is 1234.
