Getting started with Python + RPI - replacement part for the Trimpot 10k?

Hi,

I was interested in doing this sparkfun tutorial with python + RPI

I tried to add all items to the cart but this item is on backorder:

Can anyone please suggest a replacement part that I can get so that I can follow this tutorial step by step? I was looking around but I’m new to electronics and I’d appreciate if someone can tell me which part I need.

You can use the one you found as (nearly) any 10K pot-meter would do the job. Not sure where you are based, but any electronic part shop would have it, maybe you need to adjust with screwdriver instead of a knob

Hi Paul, thanks. I’m in the UK. I don’t even know how to find that part in an electronic store + attach to breadboard but thanks, I’ll just order from Adafruit. Appreciated
