Hello everyone.
I am planning to build a Rover5 robot with the Dagu 4 channel motor controller. I would prefer to use my Arduino Uno R3 if possible, but I have also ordered the Android Mega ADK. (Which is the Arduino Mega 2560 with an extra USB plug and ADK support, I suppose)
I need some advice on the battery setup i need for this.
I need a battery that can power the Rover5, with max 2.5A stall per motor, but I guess you guys already knew that (newb here), but theres a 6xAA pack coming with the Rover5 so that should be ok for now I guess? I can probably upgrade to more powerful battery later when its up and running. In the end it will be a heavy Rover for rugged use!
I also need a battery pack that gives 7-12 volts, i guess, to power the Arduino Uno.
Where does the Dagu card draw its power from ? The 6xAA on the Rover5 ? Or must i attach separate batteries to that one too Or does it draw power from the Arduino?
Or does all three of them require separate power (Arduino, Rover5 and Dagu controller!)
Also I would want a suggestion on a charger that can charge the battery packs i need.
I am thinking this 2x or 3x of this battery, depending on what I need: http://www.robonor.no/mage/default/poly … 00mah.html
And this charger: http://www.robonor.no/mage/default/li-i … 0w-5a.html
Ninja edit: By the way, since the Dagu controller has a 4-5 week delivery time, i have decided to go temporarily with the 2A dual motor controller:
http://www.robonor.no/mage/default/robo … oller.html and just run the 4 motor rover with two motors mounted (gently so i dont surpass 2A!). Can i draw power from the Arduino if i attach a 12v AC adaptor to it, just to test the engines until i get batteries so i can make it mobile ?
Any help welcome.
Thank you all for being polite and helpful on this forum. Not often you see that anymore
