GPS datalogger with 3.7v lipoly

I’m thinking about using these lipoly’s with the GPS datalogger; but can someone confirm whether I need to step them up (it looks like from the specs that the datalogger requires min 4v). Has only done this and can recommend a straightforward approach? Thanks!

I was initially happy with SFE’s data logger, but decided to add a bunch of features that were not supported. Check out my blog at: http://sdgpsdatalogger.blogspot.com/

Otherwise, you can run the SFE logger off a fully charged lipo. However you will not be getting the full life of the battery since the regulator will probably brown out at around 3.4-3.5 V.

To save you some trouble check out the link below: I just placed an order for these pcb’s that I designed that have built in stepup - stepdown converters, a protection circuit module and usb charger. I am intending to help those out who want to start using lipo’s safely for microcontroller apps. PM with your e-mail address and I will add you to my contact list to keep you posted on how things are going.

CAUTION!!! Do not use lipo’s such that you discharge them below 2.5V, overcharge beyond 4.2V, puncture or expose the lipo to temperatures >140F.

5 Boards have arrived…check blog for details.
