i am trying to send gps coordinates over wifi continously, the options are many for gps boards and wifi boards so experience is paramount
any thoughts to cut time are much appreciated

You need to provide more information about how/why you will use this to get worthwhile suggestions. As you have discovered yourself there are a great variety of modules and each one can have benefits over another depending on circumstances.
First, why wifi? Can you not use bluetooth or even a wired connection?
Second, where will the device be situated, in the woods, inside, in an open field, atop of a mountain, etc? These all determine what type of antenna you should use and the recievers sensitivity.
Finally, you should point out other characteristics you may need such as gps update frequency, accuracy, cost, time to first lock, sensitivity, etc.
You can learn about some of these attributes just by looking through the product pages of each of the GPS modules here to see what each module “advertises” for features.

the object is to simply track in realtime (1s interval) vehicles/golf carts through wifi as the network is already there on a 30k acres real estate and frankly its free of charge. open air, no woods. Should wifi signal be lost then on baord memory until signal reestablished, when all will be downloaded to update the gap in the DB

For that purpose I think you can get away with most any gps receiver and compatible antenna. It would probably be best if you purchased one that ran at the same voltage as the other half of your project though.
The hard part of your project will be the logging aspect and wifi transfer. You haven’t suggested how willing you are to build this yourself or your technical skill so it’s a bit hard to suggest something there.
