gyro/acell bluetooth atmega32 fun

hello sparkfun,

so, i’m an electronics newbie, but i’m trying put something together

for a class that i’m in. anyway, i’m using an atmega32 and probably

the dual axis gyro/accelerometer… and i need to incorporate

wireless into my device. easy implemetation, and a decent range are

priorities. it will be embedded into a large inflatable object, so it

won’t have direct line of sight… but just need to pass through the

thin vinyl. and i’m using a mac w/o built in bluetooth. would

bluetooth bluesmirf be the way to go? does your usb module work with

the built in bluetooth software in os x, or would i need a different

third party dongle? also, it would be used in a crowded performance

environment… do i have to worry about interference with bluetooth?

the zigbee modules seem like they may be more robust in that type of

environment, but also seem to be harder to implement. is that true?

any help is greatly appreciated. thanks so much.

I favor the $20 (MaxStream’s 1ea price) or so modules for 802.15.4/ZigBee. For just 2 or a few network members, you don’t need the ZigBee firmware - just use MAC addresses.

No PC drivers needed.
