Hi, im looking for some advice on a headset magnifier. I used to have a headset but it broke and i need to buy a new set. I haven’t used them in quite a while as ive been out of the hobby. With my old set i did several projects with 0605 devices but i don’t recall what magnification i had. I also did a project that used a tqfp-64 size micro controller.
Im a older guy, 62, and was wondering if anyone might advise on what magnification i might need to handle those size packages.
We only carry [this monocle which has a 10x lens but I would really only recommend it for inspecting circuit boards and other small objects, not to magnify while you are soldering since it’s just a monocle and has a relatively short focal length. You might want to search for something like a “Magnifying Headband” or even something like “Jeweler/Soldering Magnifying Headband”.
