Hello everyone.
I’m writing cause i’m having problems communicating with a bluesmirf gold i purchased recently.
I’ve read a lot of tutorials and forum posts about how to configure the bluesmirf, but I can’t even get to that point.
I create a virtual com port, and when i connect to it, the red flashing light stops, and a constant green light turns on. I thought this meant it was possible to communicate with the smirf.
So i have 2 questions:
When the green light turns on, what exactly does it mean? I thought it meant the link and all the settings were ok, but even if i change the com port settings, the green light turns on.
I’m using 9600bps, 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no flow control. I read this was the default setting (even thought i found some conflicting data in certain sites). Ah and i have the CTS and RTS pins soldered together. Is this the currect setting?
I’m just trying the basic stuff, opening a terminal program and sending the “ver” command, to see the firmware version, but it never works. I tried this with different com port settings, and it didn’t woth with any of them.
Also have a program in my arduino board, which simply sends a ‘0’ or a ‘1’ to the computer. Connecting the arduino board to the pc via USB works ok, via Bluemirf it never worked.
Thanks in advance for any help you can get me.
