How do I get the $2.50 deal when ordering?

I’d say this post is pretty much self-explanitory. When trying to order it only lets you pay for $5 an inch.

I beleive your initial order is done at $5/inch. Once you’ve ‘proven’ that you know what you’redoing, and not causing extra work for SparkFun, they’ll send you a link for the $2.50/inch deal for your next design.

That’s how I understand it.

You can always do a small test board to ensure you can get everything aligned and validated, then you can get your next large board at $2.50, I’d imagine.
