I modified my board design today and now I’m stuck with a couple of vias that are not necessary and hanging in space. I try ripping them up but it removes the entire trace. Is there no easier way that re-rerouting everything?

Minor detail, right? Eagle 6.0 freeware.
I think I figured it out by accident. Behavior depends on which side of the via you click.
In Eagle 5.10.0 (just tested), selecting the ripup tool and clicking the center of the via (attached to wire~~, orphaned, etc) turns it into an X, which disappears when I hit ratsnest. One would think it would work this way for Eagle 6.0 aswell~~
I found that alot of times when this happened to me I had to rename the via before it would let me remove it.
