How to activate 1PPS on EM406?

A couple of questions on the 1PPS signal on the EM-406:

  1. Do I have to do anything to activate it?

  2. How do I know if it is on? If it is on, the pulse is too short for my 50Hz ADC recorder to see, and there are no PPS messages in the SIRF binary stream about the PPS.

  3. How long is the pulse?
