How to Connect Neo M9N to Raspberry Pi

Hello I am trying to connect a Neo M9N to a raspberry pi zero 2 w. I have it connected via the usb c cable to the Pi but I don’t know how to proceed from here or if this is the correct way of doing this. I am new to both the module and the Pi and any help would be appreciated.

That should work but it’s possible you might need a driver for the pi to see the gps. The GPS should show up as a serial port.

Hi apologies for the late reply but would you know where I can get those drivers?

Ublox?

Well I checked as far as I can see there are no linux drivers for u-center.

U-center is software and that doesn’t need a driver. I don’t think there is a Linux version of u-center either. Last I heard u-center was windows only.

That being said, if you can find a linux driver for the M9N (which is hardware) the GPS will show up in Linux as a serial port.

I’m not positive, but I could swear I at one time did find a hardware driver for a u-blox device for Linux at one time. You will need to scour their site to find it though. Once the GPS is showing up as a serial device any GPS or serial terminal software that works on Linux will be able to display data from the GPS.
