How to tell what kind of Arduino you have?

Sorry if this is a silly question. But how can you tell what kine of Arduino I have just be examining it physically?

For example, I can examine mine and see that it is using a ATmega328P chip, and another FTDI chip. This makes me think I’ve got an Arduino Duemilanove, according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_A … le_systems.

Thanks!

Paul

How about posting a photo of it and letting the guessing/asking game begin? Usually it has the name printed on the pcb somewhere. Though those that make clones may not bother with it. Usually the shape of it is telling enough.

What color is it?

//sarcasm

If it is a clone, it could be anything.

I got an UNO long ago that I fogrgot what version it was. Fortunately arduino.cc has detail on their boards and looking through 3 different UNO versions, I was able to tell mine’s a R2. Lacks the extra connector but has some minor fixes that R1 had to suffer.

Perhaps you could look at their site and look at the pictures and details to see which one you have. This is assuming yours is based on Arduino board, some board are completely different than what Arduino made and is compatible with Arduino IDE
