In the review for the Human Presence sensor it says this:
“If you want good measurements of people further out than 3-4 feet then you need the lens. The company who makes the lens will send you some but they are switching manufactures right now so the new lenses will be available in the future sometime.”
I’ve been searching for hours trying to find where to get the lens mentioned. Does anyone have any idea where to obtain a lens that can be added to the sensor?
What the the product SKU for the sensor?
SEN-14349 - I’ve been playing with it quite a bit. Seems to work pretty well as is at about 3.5 inches. All four sensors, getting direction etc. Basically, I can’t find people or things until I’m closer than my collision system allows me to get. So kind of useless for a Robot. I’d really like to lengthen that distance significantly.
I’ve been trying to play with the thresholds and stuff to get it to the 3-4 feet mentioned. That would work for my application, though I’d rather it was 6-8 feet. At this point I’m wondering if that was a typo and they meant 3-4 inches, which is what I’m finding be the working distance to be.
You can try reaching out to AKM, the manufacturer of the sensor, to see if the have the lens available.
As for the quote in your first post, I was unable to find clear documentation of that user’s claim in the sensor’s datasheet.
