ID-12

Hello there I have been running the following :-

ID12 RFID Chip

Breakout Board

logic level converter

5v step up battery pack

It is being used for my Research into the spatial orientation of blind people in conjunction with an iPhone. All was working brilliantly the Jailbroken iphone was reading unique RFID numbers and then depending on which one I was telling the phone to play different sound and vibrate etc…

I took the “package” home to do some tests and now every single chip that it reads simply reads “ffffffffffffffffffff” thats 20 “F” rather than 20 separate numbers. I reverted back to the most original piece of code to see if it was anything I had done in code and as far as I can tell it isn’t the coding side.

Is it possible that some sort of short circuit has thrown the RFID reader off and now it recognises a card is there but is no longer able to differentiate between the different cards? I have made sure no wires are touching, ive made sure that none are loose and that none of the pins going into the iPhone cable head are loose or touching too.

Has anybody got any ideas about this as I am a software developer and programmer and my electronics skills are limited.

Thanks, Frank =]

Problem solved, one of the GND wires had a break in it causing the problem. Such a pain to find the wire too!!
