IFTTT signalling from a PicAxe?

Hi,

My new project will use a SPARKFUN PicAxe ucontroller and a temperature sensor TMP36.

Do you have any suggestion on how I might signal an ALEXA Routine that controls a MEROSS smart WiFi plug from my PicAxe when I reach a certain temperature condition, e.g., using an IFTTT that can trigger ALEXA?

Thank you!

Paul T

Which Picaxe product are you talking about? SparkFun doesn’t have a dedicated SFE original Picaxe board and as such we do not have the information to support your intended use unfortunately.

Brandon,

PICAXE 14M2 Microcontroller (14 pin) to answer your question.

I do not have to use Picaxe or IFTTT, but it is an inexpensive solution to reading temperatures and signalling to ALEXA.

I need some way of communicating to ALEXA from a SPARKFUN temperature sensor. When a surface drops from hot to room temperature I want to signal ALEXA so she can then turn OFF a smart plug.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I was hoping you have some generic device or method that any SPARKFUN customer might use to communicate to smart home systems.

Thanks,

paul

Brandon,

Also, what does SFE stand for? -Thx paul

Well we don’t have any resources to pull from for communicating with an Alexa device. That might be better suited for the community to answer.

SFE stands for SparkFun Electronics, my apologies. Ha!
