I am looking at buying one of the Olimex USB JTAB programmers for ARM. I already have Eclipse Helios for C/C++ and CodeSourcery G++ Lite installed, and I don’t care to add WinARM, Cygwin, and all of the other stuff on the Olimex CD. Can I bypass the GUI installer and just pick the driver and OpenOCD to install?
Does anybody here actually use the Olimex JTAG devices? Let’s try this again. I have a windows XP box. Don’t be snide and tell me to use Linux; I’m aware that I could solve this problem by using Linux. The PC I’m using happens to have Windows on it and I don’t want to change that right now.
So, I have Windows XP. I have Elclipse Helios with the packages for C/C++ (just downloaded; probably the latest). I have Codesourcery G++ Lite. I’d like to get the Olimex JTAG device (thinking about the smaller one since I don’t care if it has a serial port). I do not want to install another tool chain and Elclipse again. All I want is their OpenOCD and the driver for the USB Jtag device.
Can I use their OpenOCD with the stuff I have installed, or do I have to use their stuff? Doesn’t make any sense that I’d HAVE to use their stuff, since it’s hard to believe that no one installs development software before buying a JTAG.
Hello,
I am using their ARM-USB-OCD with openOCD 0.4.0
If you need just drivers, you can download them from http://www.olimex.com/dev/soft/arm/JTAG … _beta2.zip Look in the “DRIVERS” subfolder.
