Insulating coat?

I’m working on a FT232BL USB to Serial module for serial communication with an ATMEGA328AU…

I traced a small PCB with my CNC machine, and I’m wondering if there is anything I can easily insulate the copper side with?

Perhaps an epoxy? But I would probably need something that is easily removable, or something I can solder through if needed…

Any suggestions?

What you’re looking for is called conformal coating. For small jobs, you can get it in spray cans like this: http://www.all-spec.com/products/2106-1 … 4AodYRSwYg

That one is silicone based but if you look at the links on the right of the page, there is an acrylic one that is several dollars cheaper. To apply it, you first mask off anything you don’t want covered (like the contact area of your header pins) and then just spray until the entire board is covered. Removal can sometimes be an issue but there are usually solvents available that can strip it right off.

The link I posted was just the first company I found when I did a Google search. You may be able to find something cheaper if you shop around.
