Somewhere in december I ordered a 434 MHz transmitter and receiver and a Dallas DS18B20 temperature sensor. I paid US$ 3.44 for shipping. I thought that was very reasonable, I would guess that these items, including the nice little red box and an envelope weigh less than 50 gram (1.76 oz).
Yesterday I wanted to order the same receiver and temperature sensor from the previous order. At checkout I noticed that shipping now is US$ 9.32. That is 2.7 times higher.
I mailed to Sparkfun about this and they confirmed that the new price was correct. They recently corrected an error in the shipping calculator to more accurately reflect the weight of the items including packaging.
I have postponed my order for now and see if I can get those items somewhere else. If always hate it when shipping costs are heigh than the total of the items you buy. Even more with such little items as I wanted to order.
