Is anybody interested in doing a Arduino RC project for mone

If you are interested please send me your profile.

As is usually the case with posts like this, you’ll get more responses if you give out some more info as to what the project is.

What good is mone is to anybody anyways…

Judging by the OP’s response to his earlier thread all we are likely going to do here is ‘moan’.

Why do I have to send him my profile? Huuuuuhhhhh… That was me typing my moan

Here she come now, say “Mony, Mony”
Well, shoot 'em down, turn around, come home, yeah
Hey, she gives me love and I feel alright now
Everybody! You got me tossin’, turnin’ in the middle of the night

Wait, did he say mone ?

COUNT de Mone …

That’s one of my favorites, Mac! Great, now that song is going to be stuck in my head for the rest of today…

How much says the O/P thinks it was done by Billy Idol?

Don’t worry, none of you fits the profile anyway.

He probably wants a real embedded developer and not some “I did my first blinky on the Arduino”

That offends me. Who are you to know what experience we have?

Who are you guys offending him for a simple request quoting songs and stuff?

Yep, blinky on an Arduino…

Let me know when YOU are done…

The knowledgeable few catering to the uneducated masses…

I suspect the OP may be back once, maybe twice to see if any fish bit on his hook, but will never be back thereafter.

If “we” were a bit hard on him/her … OK, it was intended as fun but if it came across differently … well no more rude than he/she was to my response to his/her first post here. I think you’ll find that people here are happy to help others who have tried to solve their problem, or who are even are completely clueless. OTOH most here are pretty unforgiving of the lazy or the student who wants us to “do his homework” (vs help w/it). People asking for someone for hire tend to invoke a gestalt of the latter. To me, at least, it seems out of place in these forums. And yet the mods tolerate it so … I consider it borderline OK. Most usually ignore these type posts, as was the case here for a day. If there’s no positive response in a day then there’s likely to be none and so it becomes “open season” for a few jests. I note nobody actually denigrated the OP but rather had fun with the forum SW for truncating the title.

As for blinky … can you show me how ?

Eh! He’ll survive.

As long as the mods don’t object, I have no problem with people asking for paid help. Not all of us want to be engineers, and many people need to build something but have neither the time nor inclination to DIY and this is a good source of help. I can repair my own car, but it’s usually more convenient to pay somebody else to do the job. That’s how I look at these postings.

That said, if you’re going to go online and offer money in exchange for development work, you owe your audience at a minimum the basic courtesy of explaining what you’re trying to do and what parts (some or all) you need help with. I discount my rates here on SF and other hobby sites when doing paid work, but it’s still up to the requester to do some research into what “normal” engineering development costs are in their neck of the woods. No sense expecting someone to work for $10/hour when he expects to be paid $100/hour.

I have done a lot of work for people from online electronics forums over the years. It’s generally been a lot of fun, but (surprise, surprise) I make very little money doing it (probably average less than $30/hour when my usual corporate rate is over $100/hour). I’ve had one experienced EE reply that he had no idea how I could do the amount of work I did for such a low fee. My response is that I tend to only take on work that seems like fun and doesn’t need to be done in a hurry: you get good and cheap, but not fast. Fast you pay for!

I pick “Doesn’t exist” and “Cheap”
