Is the MiniGen VCC/2 Offset Needed?

Why is there a VCC/2 offset on the MiniGen board? What’s the offset for? Does the offset need to be there?

The offset is there because the board (as designed) does not have a negative voltage supply, and therefore, the output can’t go below 0V. Offsetting to Vcc/2 lets the entire sine wave fit in the range of 0v-Vcc

You can use a capacitor to block the DC offset and pass the AC signal. The value of capacitor will vary depending on the frequency you’re trying to pass.
