I am using the Thing Plus C (WRL-20168), LiPo Charger/Booster - 5V/1A (PRT-14411), and a 3.7 1300mAh battery. The booster is also powering a secondary device that requires 5V. Question: Is sending the 5V power directly to the JST connector on the Thing Plus C safe? I can see that there is voltage regulation going on in the schematic. I’m just not sure if 5V is too much. I appreciate your help.
5 volts might damage the battery charger IC or the fuel gauge IC. You could connect 5 volts to the VUSB pin though to supply power to the board. VUSB is normally 5 volts anyway so that would be fine.
Thank you so much!
