Lassen IQ GPS Evaluation Kit ideas

I have received my Lassen IQ GPS Evaluation Kit am very happy with the module but would like if I may make some suggestions for the evaluation board.

I would like to see the USB provide two virtual com ports for both of the channels the receiver has, maybe using one of the chips from FIDI?

Also a 5V pin direct from USB power would be useful as max232 chips that work at 3.3v are more expensive.

Also means could use 5v off say a PIC to power receiver using the 3.3v regulator in USB chip?

And if you where to include space for a max232 chip on the board well that would be great.

All very good ideas. We’ll see what we can squeeze on.

Perhaps you could make a stackable solution.

With a basic GPS board that brings out the pins to 0.1" headers and then have USB and rs232 boards that can be plugged in to the headers sold as extras depending what you wanted to use.

I’m sure there would be a market for the interface boards by them selfs

A USB to serial board and a dual head rs232 board that could be plugged together.
