I just buy a LCD-08600 from SparkFun to do my thesis project but I’ve had problems. I’m working with a PIC18F4550 because I need usb communication with a computer.
Firstly, I would like to confirm if the controller of this lcd is an epson or phillips. I am confused because this LCD-08600 has a brown cable connector and I’ve read on several web sites that a LCD of this type has a phillips controller, for this reason I initialized it the first time with a sample for phillips controller, but it didn’t work.
Then I used the “Example PIC 18F4550 USB by Francesco” to test this lcd but it didn’t work either. Besides, when I connect this lcd I hear a buzz comming from it and I don’t know if it’s damaged or not. Please may anybody help me because I don’t know what’s the problem and I am worried about my thesis.
