You have small boards that step up to 5v from lower voltages, could you combine one of these with the LiPo charger to give 5v regulated output from the cell?
At the moment I have the cell, the charger, the dc2dc and then my own project board, its a lot of seperate modules 
Maybe even have the charger/dc2dc board with pads for soldering the cell connection tabs directly onto ?
