LiPo Fuel Gauge (MAX1704X) single-cell vs two-cell question

Hi I am interested in using the MAX1704X to monitor the charge level for my Lithium Ion Battery Pack 3.7V 4400 mAh. This battery pack consists of two 3.7V 2200 mAh batteries in parallel. Would this fuel gauge work with my parallel batteries?

The reason I am confused is because I am unsure whether single-cell / two-cell refers to series or parallel battery connections. Thanks!

It should be fine, just be sure to only route 1 wire to + and -

The ‘cell number’ is referring to the # of battery cells in series, each cell being ~3.7v (the max1704 being single-cell is because it’s input range is 2.5-4.5v)
