I have seen the Logomatic on Sparkfun and it looks like it would fit pretty well into an application I have in mind. However, it would be even better if there was a version that would log serial data to a USB flash drive. Has anyone seen or developed a device like this?
It’s simple to write to SD. It’s stupidly complex in comparison to write to a USB thumb drive. It’s not that it can’t be done, it’s just so much easier to use SD that nobody seems to bother with USB.
Yeah, I realize that SD is easier. However, there are devices available to serially control a usb flash drive, such as the Viniculum VDIP2 module. I was just hoping that someone had made a device that would log raw serial data to a USB flash drive. Maybe the VDIP2 firmware could be rewritten to accomplish this. However, that task would be way beyond my skills.
