Looking for an "automatic audio switch from one source to another"

Hye,

I am using the Wav trigger which perfectly works. I trigger audio media like sound design, etc…

I am looking for a way to play these sound design over a “classic” music stream. The music would be cut, audio clips would be played and at the end, the music will resume. Would be a way for the wavtrigger to take priority on another stream. A bit like security announcement. You will find a pic enclosed.

Do you have any ideas?

Thank you for your help!

Hope I am clear enough. Picture here ==> https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EeyhQk … sp=sharing

Actually, it would be something like this

The comments seems pretty bad for this one…

Does Sparkfun have something like that? Has anyone of you would have another ref?

Thank you so much for your help!

Unfortunately we don’t carry anything that does what you’re looking for. I’m sure someone manufactures a device that would work for you, but I don’t know where to direct you to look.

If you’re able to find a device that switches channels on an external logic input, there is a pad on the edge of the board labeled PLO that goes low whenever a track is playing and goes high when the track is done. You could use that to trigger a switching device.

Some DJ mixers have a function that cuts the main audio when the microphone is being used.

Other terms you can research that are sort of similar are VOX and squelch.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Can you go a bit further on the PLO pad please? I am not sure to get what you mean?

Thank you!!

Good idea indeed. Kind of “voice over” on mixers.

I’ll have a look on that!!

The PLO pin outputs zero volts while a file is playing and when no files are playing PLO outputs 3.3 volts.
