I have a board based on the LPC2478.I wish to test the ethernet on this board.
Is there any code example available to just ping the board and test it?

If the Ethernet connections and components match the olimex LPC2478-STK, you can try downloading the demo hex file from [utasker. Just look for the the files under LPC24XX.
