MicroMod Carrier Board - Current Draw

Hey guys,

Super excited for the release of the MicroMod ecosystem of SparkFun products!

Of course, the first question I’m going to ask is about quiescent draw. Has SparkFun measured the current draws of the Data Logging Carrier Board and ATP Carrier Board?

Looking at the datasheets, the AP7361C-33 LDO is going to account for 60 uA. On the Data Logging Carrier Board there also looks to be two AP2112 LDOs at ~50 uA each.

Would love to hear what values SparkFun has come up with!

Cheers,

Adam

Hello,

Unfortunately, we do not have that information at this time. I will notify our internal teams of your technical inquiry but I can’t make any guarantees at this time.

Thank you and enjoy playing with your future MicroMods!

Update: one developer reports that for the Data Aquisition and Display carrier boards were pulling approximately 90uA @ 5V, and ~71uA @ 3.3V

Thanks Brandon,

I’ll likely be ordering all of the carrier boards regardless, but it’s valuable information to have available on the product pages.

I really appreciate SparkFun’s attention to low-power operation, but it can often be a relative term.

Cheers,

Adam

Hi there,

To provide an update to others that may find this post, detailed information on the current draw of the MicroMod Data Logging Carrier Board (MMDLCB) with an Artemis Processor can be found here:

https://github.com/sparkfun/MicroMod_Da … r/issues/3

Unfortunately, the MMDLCB has quite a high sleep current (0.5 mA) but my hope is the next hardware revision will be able to improve on this.

Cheers,

Adam
