Microphone module to accelerometer?

I’m pretty new to all this but I’m setting out to do a sound project on a swing, not a great mix. . I’m wondering if I can wire a microphone module to an accelerometer then to arduino? I need to have the accelerometer manipulate a note generated by a string thats on the swing, based on the motion of the swing. I hope that makes sense, I’m not always the most articulate project wise.

I am afraid I do not think we have anything at SparkFun that would work for this project based on your description here. If you can try and elaborate a bit on things like how the accelerometer would manipulate the note generated by a string, that would help us possibly recommend some products or tutorials that might help point you in the right direction here. Are you trying to measure the vibration or movement of the string/swing?

As it stands right now, correct me if I am missing something here but you want to

  • - Have a note generated by a string that is heard by a microphone OR
  • - Use an accelerometer on a string to send its data out that would, in turn, generate a note from some other device.

    • Are either of those descriptions what you are trying to accomplish with this project? If not, please try and describe or show with a diagram what you imagine the project will do and we might be able to point you to some products or tutorials that would help you get started.
