greetings im new the sparkfun board so forgive me if this post has been done before or if i have posted in the wrong spot. I working on a project where i require to use a mux/demux for multiple inputs. So my question is can you mux just data or can you mux diferent power inputs?, and can you mux a mux to provide even more inputs ? yet at what cost ?
sorry if they seem trivial but i would like to know where the limits are of muxing
Well it depends. Some MUXs have a fairly high resistance, perhaps 30 - 80 ohms, so trying to send much power through one won't work very well. Some might only be a few ohms. You can MUX a MUX but you're adding resistance and capacitance and that's going to degrade "high" frequency signals.kaishopsi:
