Need a Small 5v Power Supply

Hello all,

I am trying power a short 2 or 3-foot strip of LED lights (WS2811). These are 5v. I cannot find a battery pack small enough to easily conceal. I have tried stacking two watch batteries, which gives 6v and not enough amperage. Any suggestions from the pros out there?

LiPo?

Hi,

You need to use a voltage regulator like LM7805 that regulates the 12V to 5V. It will work for your.

I hope it will help you.

Thank you so much.

No, Please dont.

The LM7805 will drop 7V to do that, all the while passing whatever current your LEDs need. There will be a spectacular waste of battery power!

Not to mention that no one mentioned 12V in this thread.
