New UMTS and CDMA Telit modules

Telit is about to ramp up production “any day now” on both their new CDMA and UMTS modules.

As someone who buys a load of these GSM 862’s already, i am quite excited. So far, only a certain german supplier has even mentioned that they would carry them.

This is really worth looking at.

CDMA is starting to make sense, because very recently, Verizon announced that they would start activating anything, including some guy’s breadboard in a basement (AKA, Telit CC864 on a breakout board)

The new UMTS modules are cool because they support EDGE and WCDMA modes. Standby power consumption is also a third less…according to claims.

A lot of these modules now come with 80 pin side connectors, so some sort of daughterboard with a breakout of these pins into something like the 50 pin breakout board would be just fine for me.

You can do an eval board too, but im a big boy, and I can handle the raw power of the Telit with just the pins alone
