No response from WiFly when using SpiUartTerminal.pde

I received 5 WiFly shields for a project I’m doing. I’ve gone through the user’s manual, this forum, and used the SpiUartTerminal.pde sketch to successfully configure 4 of the 5 shields. That being said, I think I have a fair understanding of how to use the AWESOME helper sketches/libraries (kudos follower).

The 5th WiFly shield, however, is not responding to any commands I send it using the SpiUartTerminal.pde sketch. It has no problem giving a status update on trying to find a Wi-Fi network, but will not respond to ANY commands I send it. No errors, no “ok”, no nothing. Like I’m not typing anything.

I’ve used the factory_reset.pde sketch, which appeared to have successfully reset the module (all the LEDs were blinking as data was being printed to the Serial terminal) and it said that the module was successfully reset. Still, it will not respond to commands.

Has anyone encountered this?? In follower’s post, he said “this sketch will be of no help to you” (something along those lines)… What can I do!!!

Thanks in advance!

Will that sketch even work? The manual says you have to toggle IO9 5 times to fully reset the module, and that sketch only seems to do it twice.

I’ve had to do the factory reset, I did it by shorting the IO9 jumper (labeled P!O9) on the board while pressing reset, then releasing and reapplying the short 5 times. For the first 4 times, the lights blinked in a different pattern.

After the fifth, it was fully reset. Blink pattern on 4 and 5 were the same.
