All,
I am seeing 1Mbps digital data on the DATA pin of the RF2401 (MiRF) when CE is high, DR1 is low, no clock or strobe on the CLK1 pin and no transmitter operating.
Is this normal?
Is this just noise?
There is no mention of this in the datasheet. It says that when the chip has good data, DR1 will go high and the data can be clocked out of the DATA pin.

What configuration is the nRF in? If you placed it in Direct RX mode, this is the expected behavior as it says in the datasheet. However if it is supposed to be in shockburst, this is quite odd and the module is more than likely dead.
One of my RF-24Gs started doing this and we finally concluded that it was dead. The other three (at the time) were not exhibiting the behavior. Sure enough, we swapped it for another RF-24G and it was working quite well.
