nubee in need of some wireless advice

Hi,

I am new to all this wireless stuff and have a problem.

I am developing a prototype for a wireless photoframe that loads images, videos and sound from the internet. There is some other stuff it will do but the bit I need help with is choosing the wireless connection stuff.

I think I will do the basic development with an Arduino as I have worked with these before but I am open to any other suggestuions. What is the best way to connect to the internet to get the media? Is a bluetooth modem the way to go or are there other alternatives?

Sorry for the basic level of my question but I have been trying to read around the subject and have got a bit confused.

Any help is greatly appreciated…

Range? Datarate? Direct connect or is requiring a computer to handle the internet connection acceptable?

Lots of questions before you can settle on parts.

Errrrr…

The connection could go through a computer, although it would be cool if they could connect directly… I don’t know the difference in cost of the 2 options?

Datarate - I have no idea what this is but if its to do with the speed that the media would be delivered to the device then the quicker the better. The screen will be quite small so file size will be limited some what.

Range - not sure what range is- range from the device to a modem? Range from the device to a computer?

As i said, I’m a new to this sort of stuff so am not sure whats what…
