Openlog fails to boot w/ external 3.3v

Please see the discussion linked below. The SD Card is probably causing your 3.3V supply to dip (brown-out) when it powers up.

OpenLog Artemis does not power on when connected to power supply

Hi, I have a SparkFun OpenLog Artemis, I am using the Vin and GND pins to power it on and have cut the MEAS jumper. When I connect the board to a power supply and power it on, the board does not turn on and start logging unless I have pressed the RST button. Is this normal behavior? I would have expected the board to turn on and start logging once I turned the power supply on. Thanks!
