Can anyone confirm/deny that OpenOCD using the Olimex ARM-USB-OCD-H JTAG pod works on the Olimex SAM3-H256 board?
There are “board” cfg files in OpenOCD for the SAM7-H256 as well as sample code on the Olimex site, but nothing for the SAM3-H256. Now I suspect that given some effort I could get it to work, but I would really like a turnkey solution for my first trip into the OpenOCD world.
I haven’t actually used the SAM3-H256 (or any SAM part for that matter). Hopefully someone will direct experience will reply.
It looks like the at91sam3sXX.cfg file in the target directory would work. Generally the biggest concern with board vs. chip is reset handling. Doesn’t seem like that would be an issue with such a simple header board. But as you said, it would be nice to be sure for your first attempt.
