Operatring bipolar motor using Duel-H Bridge L293D

I managed to run a bipolar motor using an H-Bridge driver module, however the motor operates slowly.

When I connect the batteries directly to the motor, it operates well.

What might be the problem ?

Details:

  • - The driver module:

  • - Arduino UNO
  • - Voltage Input to the driver module:

Six 1.5V AA normal batteries (a few brands).

The batteries are not full, so I get approx 8V input

  • - Voltage input to the Arduino:

    standard GP 9V batery.

  • NOTE: I did connect the GND of the Arduino to the driver module.

Any link to the motor ? What is it’s operating voltage ?

Assuming that the motor winding resistance and current rating are appropriate for your motor driver and battery supply,

the motor runs as fast as you command it to, up to a point. Post the program code, using the “code” button for proper formatting, and we can probably help.

However, for proper operation it is essential to know the motor parameters, most importantly the current rating and winding resistance.

An FYI: a BiPolar motor is a STEPPER motor. What I think you have is a DC Brushed motor. Two very different creatures.
