PAT Testing for Arduino

Hello guys,

Hello there,

We have a project in UK and the project uses 15 Arduino + Arduino Ethernet shield + ID-20 RFID Reader from Innovations with Sparkfun Breakout attached to a Sparkfun Proto shield…

The organization asked us the certificate for PAT Test. This is the first time we are going abroad for this kind of project and don’t have any idea about Pat testing… When it fails and successes etc…

So any ideas and thoughts about this? How can I be sure it’s gonna pass the test before the orginal Pat testing?

Best,

Ozgur

Did you google it?

Lots of info on the web.

yes I have googled but wanted to ask for direct help if anyone had any experience…

I see there is a tester thing which I don’t have any access for now… and is that it etc?

Hi,

The only thing that could be PAT tested related to your device would be the wall wart type power supply. The device cannot be PAT tested.

The wall wart power supply if one is used will more than likely be double insulated and have no earth connection so earth continuity cannot be tested. The wall wart is probably electronic also so not even insulation testing could be carried out. A thorough visual examination would be the only PAT testing required. Any attempt to connect a PAT tester to your device and carry out a PAT test would probably result in damage to your device.
