PCB trace material suitable for button pads?

Greetings,

I am using [these button pads for a project I’m working on. Along with them I’m using my own PCB’s, instead of the dedicated sparkfun button pad PCB for these particular buttons.

Therefore I’d like to ask about suitable PCB trace material for these buttons. Since I design the boards myself it’s possible to customize the trace properties at the the manufacturing plant. My intention is to increase the longevity of the boards, and/or reduce risk of corrosion et c.

I was unable to find any data sheets regarding the electrical properties of the buttons/pads, and this is why I’m asking here. If there are data sheets available somewhere, I’d be very interested to look at them.

Your feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!](Button Pad 2x2 - LED Compatible - COM-07836 - SparkFun Electronics)

An ENIG finish on the board would probably give you the best corrosion resistance, since gold doesn’t oxidize like copper, tin, lead, and silver.

Thanks for your advice, I’ve gotten this recommendation from others as well, so ENIG it is!
