Powering Qwiic Scale - NAU7802 using MicroView

Hi,

I am wondering wether I can use the 5V output on the MicroView to power the Qwiic Scale - NAU7802?

I realise the NAU7802 is supposed to be used with 3.3V but in the Datasheet it is mentioned that an Inputvoltage of 2.7V~5.5V can be used. I have tested it and the LED lights up but I can’t communicate with it. The board isn’t fried as it still works perfectly when I connect it to a 3.3V power supply.

Is there anything specific I have to do (i.e. clip a jumper) to make it work with a 5V Input or do I have to use a level shifter?

Power specs and data comm specs are different beasts :-/

I think you need a level shifter such as https://www.sparkfun.com/products/15439
