powering SAMD21 Mini through VCC

is it possible to power my SAMD21 by supplying 3.3V to VCC – assuming i do NOT have the USB plugged in???

there is also a reference to a USB_HOST_EN pin in the docs and schematics… can’t find the pin on the board… and do i need to do something special here before supplying 3.3V to VCC???
