pressure sensor better than scp1000 for altimeter apps

ccLansman:
Has anyone used the MS5540c with a pic micro controller? I am having a really hard time understanding the source code provided by intersema and am a terrible programmer. Can anyone provide their source code?

Thanks

Chris

still need the code?

we will have the code up very soon (within a few days) for the intersema MS5540C

its a very nice sensor btw.

pretty happy with it.

lots of code to use em however.

we did full floating point with 2nd order compensation.

and put it through a rolling average filter (10 place)

thinking about doing an underwater board next for ROV’s

intersema has some nice parts!!!

heres a data graph showing the output of the intersema MS5540C after a 10 average software filtering

as you can see the intersema is a crazy nice sensor!!

ill post here when the code for the intersema is up

(probably tomorrow!!!)

thanks

we finally have the Intersema code available as well as the complete pressure code for the US standard atmosphere in full floating point available.

the Intersema code is bit banged.

stop on by, you can click on the link below and find it.

I looked through your site but couldn’t find the pressure code. I did find the Pressure Master data sheet, which gives the relevant equations and looks very thorough. If you actually make the code available, can you give a more explicit link?

Thanks, Jim

we have quite a bit of chip specific and application specific code in our store which can be time savers.

alot of it you wont find on the internet (or without doing a ton of work).

it is an alternative to purchasing one of our boards, you can buy the code separately.

they all can be downloaded instantly.

this is what an intersema can do with a very simple FIR filter (and some other filters too)

the idea is to keep it at a fast rate and not overfilter it!!

anyone can overfilter something and make it rather useless lag wise.

some new data graphs of the pressure altitude output versus the type of filtering.

the filtering is optimized for the greatest rate (HZ) output and sensor read times.

Intersema sensors take a little more work to read from, and therefore we use the rolling average filter on it.

for the freescale sensor we use the FIR since we can read that one alot faster.

i see sparkfun added the bosch sensor i suggested (great move!!!)

please email them requesting to add more intersema products as some of the regular distributors dont have them!!

it would be a great little sensor to add…

yah it requires tons of external code, but it just fits some applciations perfectly.

I have samples and a board ready and I am about to implement the code for the [MS5607-B from Intersema.

It’s got a super simple I2C interface. Look for a simple serial output breakout board for this from me in the very near future!](http://www.servoflo.com/pressure-sensors/item/calibrated-digital-pressure-sensor-modules/ms5607.htmlurl)

I can’t wait!

How near, in the “near future”?
