Pricing of bulk production of circuit board

Hi guys,

Not your average question, but an easy one. I have no experience with developing PCBs, but I want to look into the possibility of mass producing a circuit board.

Can someone please give me an estimation of the price per unit, for mass producing around (10,000 units) a board with:

GPS component, sim card reader (and the ability to connect to a mobile network), ultrasonic distance sensor, small solar panel and a battery (making the product self sustaining).

Any guesstimates would be really appreciated!

Did you try to find prices at sites like digikey.com, rs-components.com and pcbway.com ?

GPS and GSM modules, especially if they need to be always on, use quite some power.

Tiny solar panels provide only very small amounts of power.

If you need small and cheap than probably you will have to turn off the GPS, GSM and ultrasonic modules the biggest part of the time.

At those quantities, you’re better off selecting specific devices and then contacting a distributor (not Digikey or Mouser!) for pricing. Digikey, etc. pricing isn’t so good at higher volumes (at least that was my experience years ago. May have changed by now).
