This is really embarassing. I have many years of coding experience, but for some odd reason I’m not getting the expected results when reproducing the circuits from the SIK. I’m seriously doubting my capacity to follow instructions. This is the second SIK that I got my hands on already, but the results appear to be same on both attempts. The simplest of examples are just not working as expected.
One example would be circuit #2 (Potentiometer). Everything is connected as indicated on the guide and the code is a verbatim copy of the SIK’s example code. Everything seems to check, except for the result. Turning the potentiometer does nothing to the LED blink rate, which appears to just keep on blinking at a reasonably high rate.
Another example would be the also extremely simple circuit #5 (Push Buttons). Again, connections and code check with what’s on the guide, but nothing – LED just flickers randomly. The flickering, I imagine, suggests some sort of voltage fluctuation is going on, but the pull-up resistor is there – and connected as indicated on the guide!!
I must be missing something really obvious… either that or I’m just plain stupid.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
