Problems with Zylin GDB stub for eclipse

Hi all,

I’m running eclipse 3.2.1 on a Windows box.

Unfortunately I can’t seem to find how to wire up zylincdt-20060908 to eclipse. I followed the instalation instructions but it doesn’t look like there is an “Embedded Debug launch” offered in eclipse

Has anyone had success with eclipse 3.2.1 and zylincdt-20060908?

Cheers,

Steve

Hi Steve.

As an alternative to Michael Fischer’s instructions on the Yagarto web site, take a look at my tutorial “Using OpenSource Tools for AT91SAM7 Cross Development” on the Atmel web site.

http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resources/prod … source.zip

There’s lots of detail in this tutorial and it may give you a hint about what’s wrong.

Cheers,

Jim Lynch

…For some reason simply re-extracting the contents of the zylin cdt zip to the eclispe directory made things mysteriously work…

Or maybe I forgot to install it in the first place (doh!!). Anyway this is what you get for playing with toys at 1am ; )

Anyway I’ve got a grin on my face… Next step is to figure out why the const char array is being assigned an address in la-la land. I figure it’s got something to do with the linker script. Of course that will have to wait until the wifey is asleep… so shhh!

BTW Jim, I just wanted to say thanks for all of that effort you put into writing your tutorials. As you may guess I’ve been using them to get up and running.

I’m quite happy to flick up a copy of the changes I made to your 2106 example if that’s of any use to anyone.

Regards to all the fellow arm-wrestlers out there,

Steve
