Programming Arduino Pro Mini

Hi guys

I am trying to program a SparkFun Arduino Pro Mini 16Mhz/5V with a [FT231X breakout. If I connect the TX pin of the programmer to its RX pin, I get an echo effect in Serial monitor. However, when I try to upload a sketch, I get the following error:

avrdude done. Thank you.

Problem uploading to board. See http://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#upload for suggestions.

Well I feel foolish. Just had to select “Arduino Pro or Pro Mini” from the board menu. All working now
