Programming AST-CAN485 Dev board with Atmel-ICE programmer

I’ve designed a PCB which uses an AT90CAN128 as the MCU so for prototyping I’ve been using the AST-CAN485 breakout board. I’m attempting to program the breakout board in Atmel Studio with an Atmel-ICE programmer (as that’s how I will program the PCB).

When everything is connected the programmer doesn’t recognize the attached breakout board through a green status light. In Atmel Studio I am able to see the Atmel-ICE but cannot read the AST-CAN485 device signature. Does anyone have experience doing this? When I hook up an Arduino Uno to the ICE programmer I am able to see the Uno on Atmel Studio and the green status light comes on the programmer.

Thanks in Advance!
